starion,
what does that have to do with what was first posted?

your whole post rests on the presupposition that you are aware of change, then proceed to write a post that revolves around that. It's simply only adding on layers to try and affirm that your assumption is accurate.

if you really inquire into what it is to "lose a tooth", then what you presuppose has no basis.

If you lose a tooth, and are unaware that you lost a tooth?
Even the cells of your body know you lost that tooth; you would not see it, feel it, be aware of it? When even your tongue feels the slightest imperfection in your teeth???

Neither means, it's not either to begin with, therefore, neither are needed to even say it's neither to begin with

Change is like a river. It's constant, seamless, and never stops. However the more compound the aspect of change the slower it appears to alter. In this way we are able to observe at least the illusion of being. However if all change suddenly stopped it would be like hitting the pause button on the Universe. For the duration of the "pause" we ourselves would have no consciousness or awareness. If the Universe were to suddenly unpause, in our minds it would be as if the Universe never paused at all.

It appears that the 'language' that was spoken of in another thread by Beckett is a thing that others do not understand. Those that Know 'Awe' do think differently. Why-what do those collective few Know that they understand each other?

But such incremental changes such as that do not happen overnight. You don't go from glaring and anger to sweet smiles overnight. You do not learn to forgive overnight. You must work at changing your response day after day...bit by bit...just as you don't give up smoking.. by tossing away cigarettes and never thinking about them again, or breaking any bad habit that you've had for a long while... It takes time and rewriting your thinking....

Now this incremental change was necessary to my health. It does me no good to harbor anger...it flares out, affects my relationships, my body, my emotions, and my dreams.
Anger affects my work, my energy, my total overall beingness...it's like I'm sitting inside a dark cloud wondering why the sun doesn't shine...

But the most wonderful part of this is that, all that anger, all that rage, all that fury and want for retribution has drained out... and it's as if the original hateful
expanded balloon experience is slowly calming down, returning to a simple moment in time. We expand moments we want to ruminate later... usually moments in which our love has been compromised...

So Yiming.... what I did was to rerun the events I remembered giving them a loving and kinder response that I felt I should have received. You will say I imagined them my way and imagination means nothing...but in my mind having rewritten the "program", I have removed the pain, the misery, the anger and all of that.
Imagine that a moment in time is expanded, blown up into a balloon of anger, of misery, of pain, of love being hurt. Here's this big mental balloon inside your head, crowding out a lot of other stuff. It's dark, it's angry...that's your love having been hurt. When you rewrite the program, you deflate that balloon and that gives room for other stuff to fit in... it won't eliminate the event; it'll soften it.

Well said, AB.. Deflecting credit, reducing ego...

Yiming: My father did some awful things. He wasn't nice to his daughter. He could have been, if someone had been there to teach him to be a loving father. No one was
there; he didn't have the knowledge. Now....though I want to blame him and want to
make him smarter, wiser, etc... I was too young to explain that to Dad whom I then
put on a pedastal because he was my dad. Children elevate their parents: it's the
parents' actions toward the children that change that equation. By the time I realized
this and that...he was dying...and I forgave him and told him about the afterlife.
Yes and someone forgot to clue him in about that too...

loving the bandaid for heart surgery anaolgy... it fits very nicely... :)

the point re being healthy in oneself is the real issue here...

no matter what one does it is only when one fully realises the role ( ) plays in the doing that the actions manifest as truth and has the desired effect... if one is doing simply to get browny points it is just another status grab used to prop up ones identity...

when ( ) begins to manifest in everything from a simple smile to someone on the street who looks distressed to handing out food to homeless people truth becomes evident in all... people always respond to this state of being and aspire to it...

the system of some offers some truth...

the system of all offers all truth...

that's a good point abby.

how are we to communicate something we do not have?

unless, and until, we are healthy ourselves, no one is going to want what we have anyways.

and if we cannot even agree here...and continually trip over our own beliefs, then what does that say about the depth of anything we would have to give another?

if we fix one system, let us say the spiritual system, without fixing ALL of the systems, it is like putting a bandaid on a patient that just had heart surgery.

all systems are interconnected, and if we cannot connect with ourselves and each other, what hope do we have of connecting with the world?

in all sincerity...

although it is appreciated what you are saying and your insight has a lot of merit where does it leave the one beaten as a child who grows to beat their child...

how can it be productive or proactive to dismiss their claims to the realm of spirit simply because they beat their child as a result of being beaten... how can they know better...

sure compassion will ease the pain slightly but unless one stands up and accepts them as they are, without judgement, then trapped within fear and content one will remain...

no disrepect but dismissivness is a major stumbling block in breaking the chains that bind us...

IMO any doctrine or teaching promoting a philosphy that creates a class system of worthy and worthless is only hindering ones spiritual growth...
