I felt saw and heard both the ultimate divinty and the ultimate depravity. It truly was a war simply to learn how to function once more in the world.</p> <p>I had always been on a spiritual quest and I believe my trip to madness was ultimatly the result of becoming so far cut off from every aspect of myself and my spirituality and at the same time yearning and desiring so much for a connection to and with god that to find it I had to take a break with reality. You see I was once upon a time an extremist only-10-people-in-my-town-are-going-to-heaven sort of person. Very hateful. But at the same time I felt had this profound connection with God. Well one day I woke up and looked at the hate in myself and my fellow worshipers and said no. This is not me. This is not god. At that point my hate turned directly to god and to jesus.
