Greetings, All!

Many of you have come to know me, over the past several years, as YetAnotherSeeker, on this board and its predecessor. I chose that as a screen name after looking at the board at that time, and realizing that I was searching for the truth; and not only was I seeking the truth, but there were (and still are) many more just like me in the world who were on the same or similar quest for enlightenment (whatever that might be).

My search has led me in many directions over the past 40 some-odd years, mostly away from top-down, hierarchically organized religions or organizations, toward a more personal spirituality. My belief system has also evolved (obviously), from a strict Catholic credo, with one personal objective God Who rules the universe, to a totally subjective creation, which, I believe, is basically a mutually agreed-upon mass illusion. Along the way, I have had some really unique experiences that helped me form my current world-view.

Some of the areas I have explored have to do with the energy-body, the aura, and chakras, and most recently, the luminous body and shamanism.

This past week, during a shamanic training session, I realized that if I was ever going to find what I'm looking for, I need to stop seeking and start finding! That's why I changed my screen name here to "Yetanotherfinder."

Unfortunately spammers rarely read responses. Just in case they do, their spamming is a bad advert for the kind of process or enlightenment they advance.
Spamming and enlightenment are mutually exclusive.

Hey, spamming and good manners are mutually exclusive.

Anyway, I will now involve myself "in various interesting or exciting activities like sky diving, river rafting, bungee jumping or loosing your virginity" and I won't need Osho and his stuff, although I have to say that since my own virginity has been lost years ago, I will have to make other people lose their virginity.

Most of us are well aware of the fact that our life is short and we make the most of it by doing everything that excites us. But even after being aware of this we fail to live our life to the fullest by repressing from indulging in various interesting or exciting activities like sky diving, river rafting, bungee jumping or loosing your virginity for that matter. This is because we are very use to confine ourselves in preconceived notions. What we need to do is liberate your soul which can be done by doing active meditation.

These modern techniques of meditation were introduced by Rajneesh Osho, who was a well known guru of spirituality during his times. These techniques do not make it mandatory for the learner to sit in a stationary position at the time of doing meditation. He or she can indulge in activities such as singing, clapping, dancing, laughing, and humming and so on. You can learn them in group by enrolling for active meditation course offered by their institute known as Oshodhara.

Majority of the people in the world are unaware of their goal in life. In other words, they have no idea why they came into world and what is the aim of their life. The truth behind this unknown mystery is that every human being in born to do some spiritual tasks in their lives, that is, they have spiritualistic goals. Once you are able to discover and become aware of these goals your purpose of life becomes known, it is up to you how you achieve your goals in life. Meeting these spiritual goals is not a simple task from any individual’s point of view.

One is required to practice meditation to be in a position to attain these goals. You can start learning meditation by going through fundamental techniques of meditation consisting of breathing exercises and focusing on your inhaling and exhaling of breath. Some people are able to master meditation through these techniques and consequently meet their spiritual goals. On the other hand, there are people who suffer from poor concentration and are thus unable to concentrate on their breath. Osho designed active meditation techniques involving movements of the body such as dancing and stretching for such people to enable them to achieve their spiritual purpose of life.

“Health is Wealth”, everyone is well aware of this phrase and it is also very good to implement it in our lives for our own good. When it comes to good health I am not just talking about physical health but mental health as well. Meditation is a technique which can help you in attaining a very good health. It is mainly aimed at facilitating good mental health but it also has positive affects on physical health of the person in question. For is works really well in improving the concentration of the person performing it. Many of us suffer from lack of concentration due to which we perform poorly in our exams. To bring your concentration level to the peak meditation is very good.

As meditation involves deep breathing we get ample amount of oxygen which we don’t get while normal breathing. We all know that our life is running because of oxygen so more we receive it better it is for our overall physical health. Another technique of meditation known as active meditation facilitates proper blood circulation through activities like dancing, stretching parts of body, laughing and jumping with joy. So no matter which technique you use you are sure to receive numerous health benefits through meditation.

We are facing a lot of problems in our live nowadays especially due to prevailing recession all over the world. We constantly remain depressed due to uncertainties in our life which include lay offs, non payment of salaries, job insecurity, poor government policies, office politics and so on. To deal with such problems in a effective manner we must start our life afresh. This can be done my practicing meditation which can be learnt through quite a few ways such as tai chi, deep breathing exercises and the most modern one known as active meditation.

Deep breathing exercise is the technique which is practiced very commonly in all parts the world. This technique is practiced in a silent environment where a person is made to sit in a comfortable position with his eyes closed. He is made to concentrate on his breath at the time of inhaling and exhaling. Active meditation is quite different in a way that it doesn’t requires one to sit in a motionless state instead it allows you to jump, dance, clap and laugh loudly to make the best of the situation. These techniques of meditation are very essential steps on your path of spirituality.
dattaswami on "Why human incarnation generally hesitant to perform miracles?"

Why human incarnation generally hesitant to perform miracles?

It is very difficult to accept the human incarnation while alive. Only very few blessed souls who are already liberated and accompanied the Lord to help Him in His mission can recognize and serve the living human form of God. The repulsion to accept a co-human being even as a greater person is very difficult. Then you can never imagine any human being to accept another human being as greatest God. The human form of God is just similar to any human being.

If any specialty is exhibited, people fear and run away. To become close to the human beings, no specialty should be exhibited. If the closeness is achieved, the recognition is lost. To get recognition if some super natural aspect is exhibited, the closeness is lost. Between closeness and recognition, which is better to be retained at the cost of the other? The recognition destroys the freedom to discuss with the Lord and clarify the doubts.

When Krishna was looking as an ordinary human being, Arjuna bombarded Him with all questions and clarified His doubts. However, when Krishna was in the state of cosmic form (Viswarupam), Arjuna shivered with fear and no question could come out. The brain was blocked with shock and even the doubts did not arise. When the doubts remain un-cleared, the ignorance continues. Therefore closeness is better than recognition.

The husband hears the advices from the wife in close association. Therefore through closeness, even if the identification is not there, the soul can be guided into the right path through convincing the soul by preaching. Instead of convincing the soul by exhibiting the super power, which induces the conviction though fear, it is better to induce the conviction through the super talent exhibited in preaching. Even if you think of the human incarnation as a preacher (Guru), there is nothing wrong. If you do not recognize Him as God, His crown has not fallen on the ground.

I will just give an example. One woman was a very close devotee. She even used to argue and fight with Me on the points of the spiritual knowledge. One day, she quarreled with Me for not showing any divine vision. The Lord in Me gave a shocking vision of God Dattatreya. She became unconscious for one hour and even got a mild heart attack. From that day onwards, whenever she comes to Me, she is always with terrible fear. She simply accepts whatever I preach. The recognition has come but the closeness is lost.

Therefore Jesus said, “Those who believed Me without proof are really blessed”. This means that the devotees who recognized the Lord through the knowledge always have close freedom and clarify all their doubts and hence they are blessed. They gain the complete devotion. If the proof is shown, the closeness is lost and the gap appears. The doubts are not cleared due to fear. Neither the devotee nor the God enjoys the close association.

The realization will never come because the ignorance remains due to un-cleared doubts. Therefore the theoretical recognition arrived through the knowledge is always the best. The practical proof develops not only fear but also the attitude to fulfill the desires and solve the problems using the divine power. The attention is diverted from the path of realization. The real bond of love can never be formed. If the power is recognized, the whole situation is diverted. The mentality is always towards tapping the powers towards personal solutions.

The commercial bond grows. The friendship becomes more and more intensive if the qualities of the human form of God become more and more similar. I heard some people telling that Sri Satya Sai was printing notes and smuggling the foreign goods! I told them that this allegation is false in the case of Sri Satya Sai, but I told them that in future God has to come in human form with such talents also so that the smugglers approach Him closely and slowly get salvation.

dattaswami on "The line of action of Lord in Human form"

The line of action of Lord in Human form

People often say that if we worship Lord Datta (the Lord in human form), He gives troubles to us. Yes, it is true. But, if you know what is really happening, you will jump and fall at the feet of Lord Datta. Do you know what is He actually doing? He drags all the results that you were going to receive in the future, to the present. Then He undergoes 90% of those punishments on His human body. You have to receive only 10% of the results of your sins. Since you have committed the sins in the past, you have to undergo atleast a little of it; it is only minimum justice. You are paying only 10% now while 100% of your sins are getting cleared. Thus your future life is cleared of all results of sins and remains full of happiness.

The pain of the operation performed by the doctor is temporary and you are going to enjoy a happy life in the future since the disease is fully cured.

“Dattam Chhinnam” means “Datta cuts”. What does this mean? It means that He operates upon you and removes your sins completely. He clears all your future debts. He pays 90% and makes you pay only 10%. However, you do not understand this and take the 10% paid by you as a loss given to you by Lord Datta. To clear this misunderstanding, you may think, “Why does Datta not clearly reveal the facts?” But no; He will not reveal this secret. If He were to reveal it, everyone would naturally love Him and such a love is not true love. If someone benefits you and therefore you love him, it is but natural. But if someone is troubling you and you are still able to love him, then that is real love; e.g. the love shown by you for your troublesome son. So, Lord Datta appears as if He is troubling you. Although He is really helping you, He hides this fact. This is called “The Test of Datta (Datta Pariksha)”.

A doctor comes with a knife to cut open your stomach and remove your ulcer. Do you mistake him to be a murderer? Lord Datta will not reveal the truth to you so that He can see whether you have real confidence in Him or not.

Your faith and love for Him must be to such a level that you should think, “Even if He murders me, I will gladly die, because how sweet it is to die at His hands!” Bhishma thought similarly, when Lord Datta in the form of Krishna, rushed towards him to kill him in the battle of Mahabharata. So, worship Lord Datta, even if He gives troubles, because, they will give you permanent happiness like the operation done by a doctor. Like a doctor, Lord Datta, always sees your welfare only.

dattaswami on "Whether Jesus married Mary Magdalene"

Whether Jesus married Mary Magdalene

Some people say that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and most of the people say that Jesus was a bachelor. Similarly in Hinduism, most of the people say that Hanuman is a bachelor but some say that He married Suvarchala. This argument is unnecessary because God comes down in human form to attract all types of the souls to uplift them. The main aim of the human form is that He wants to become very close to the human beings. If the qualities of the human form are also matching, the human beings get more and more attracted and the Lord can become more and more close to the human beings. Therefore, the human form of God contains similar qualities of the human beings into which He is entering.

The human being is made of the three qualities. The quality is a thought or feeling and is a wave of the awareness. Awareness itself is dynamic and is a work form. The quality is also kinetic energy and is work form. The inert energy is transformed into awareness and the inert energy, which is the same primary energy in the form of cosmos, is also dynamic and work of God. All the modifications of the primary energy (Matter, awareness, light, heat etc.) are also work forms only. Therefore everything in this world starting from a feeling or quality up to the primary cosmic energy is work form only. Therefore, it is said that the world is made of the three qualities which are just the feelings of God only.

The entire world is the imagination of God and therefore the quality or feeling forms the world. The human body in which God is hidden is the human incarnation. The human body consisting of matter, energy and feelings is the medium which is relatively real with respect to God. The worker is God and the creation is the work. Therefore, anything in the world is unreal from the point of God. Therefore, it makes no difference whether the human incarnation is a bachelor or married.

dattaswami on "Veda says that God created this Universe only for entertainment"

Veda says that God created this Universe only for entertainment
The analysis to know that God is beyond analysis is also analysis only. Therefore, the direct meaning of the word Aakasha Deepam is that God is unimaginable, since He is beyond spatial dimensions. The extension of this concept is useful to the spiritual aspirant. The entire creation is within the dimensions of Space. Since God is beyond Space, it automatically means that God is beyond creation (Neti Neti…). He is not the creation. He is only the supporter of creation. Pot is not mud. Mud is the supporter of the pot. If God is creation, the purpose of creation is lost. Veda says that God created this Universe only for entertainment (Ekaaki Naramate…).

If God is the creation itself, again God becomes alone and cannot have any entertainment. For entertainment only, He wanted a second item, which must be different from Him (Sadviteeyamaichchat). The support is quite different from the supported item. You cannot say that both are one and the same. Entertainment is of two types. In the first type, you see the drama from outside. In the second type, you enter the drama in a role and entertain yourself. While acting in a role, you are also seeing the entire drama. If you are the single actor and become everything in the drama, you cannot have any entertainment. If you become everything, there is no possibility of entering the drama. Veda says that God entered the creation (Tat Srustva Tadevaanu Praavishat).

Unless the creation is different from God, how can He enter the creation? One cannot enter himself. If you bring the statement of Veda that all this creation is Brahma (Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma…), this contradicts the other Vedic statement, which says that nothing in the Creation is God (Neti Neti…, Nedam tat…). Hence, the word Brahma in the first statement must have a different meaning other than God.

dattaswami on "God enters the creation in the form of a human being"

God enters the creation in the form of a human being

Brahma means anything, which is greatest among the items of a category. Veda is said to be Brahma by Gita (Brahmaakshara Samudbhavam…). Similarly, food is Brahma, respiration is Brahma, mind is Brahma, intelligence is Brahma etc., are the statements of Veda. This Knowledge is supported by the above concept also, because the imaginable creation cannot be the unimaginable God. God enters the creation in the form of a human being. In that human being God exists. The support enters into a supported item. You need not think that the other items of the creation have lost the support because the support entered into one item only. This problem comes only when the support is having spatial dimensions. Since God is beyond spatial dimensions, this problem does not arise.

Without understanding this concept, some people feel that a part of the support only entered the particular item. The concept of ‘whole’ and ‘part’ again requires spatial dimensions. Therefore, God being the support of the entire creation can also exist in a particular petty item simultaneously. Now the particular item into which God entered is identified as God similar to an electric wire identified as electricity. Identification includes both monism (Advaita) and dualism (Dvaita).

The electric wire is current because you are experiencing current by touching the wire anywhere and therefore, monism is true. Even then, wire is wire and current is current and therefore, dualism is also true. Therefore, both Sankara and Ramanuja are correct, because the same truth is viewed in different angles. These angles exist only in an electric wire and not in a wire where there is no electricity. Therefore, it is meaningless to discuss about Advaita and Dvaita in the case of an ordinary soul, which is always separate without God like a wire without electricity. The Advaita philosophers should understand that the discussion about Advaita and Dvaita is confined to human incarnation only.

God is present everywhere and in the heart of every living being. Some attributes that belong to divine include purity, honesty, forgiveness, kindness and calmness. If god lies in everyone, every person should exhibit such characteristics but in reality there are very few people who are blessed with such divine qualities. These people are spiritually enlightened and as they are close to god. But unfortunately majority of the people are different to these spiritual beings as they have never experienced godliness within them. As a result they suffer from problems like lack of concentration, anxiety, stress, haste and sleeplessness.

Even these suffering people can realize god within them through meditation and spirituality. Spirituality takes you closer to your soul which lies deep within you just like god. You are required to learn meditation to achieve power to reach deep inside you. Meditation requires you to concentrate on your breadth. A lot of people whose concentration is very poor find it somewhat difficult to concentrate on their breadth. For such people active meditation technique of Osho works really well. As active meditation technique involves people to remain active by indulging in activities like dancing, stretching exercise, singing in communion and so on. These techniques are easy to learn for everyone and make it possible for them to reach closer to god.
