The changes that are "predicted" by the mathematical model are all supposedly as intense or "species-changing" for humanity as, say, the invention of agriculture, or the widespread use of computers. I have seen several independent speculations that these changes might involve upgrade of human DNA to 12-strand, realignment of our "light bodies", and other theories. I think that many know or theorize that something is going to happen, but nobody knows for sure what or when.

In my opinion, there will be a lot of changes. I think that they will start with large corporations, governments, and places that are most out of balance to begin with.
Where money is involved and money makes decisions without concern for the health, well being or goodness of the people, that's an institution that will be going through changes. I envision...problems originating in cities; magnified by mass of humanity, needs of humanity, and the feelings of helplessness which can overwhelm a city.. City Dwellers are dependent upon a chain of relays to obtain necessities of life. One break in that chain....
If government checks did not arrive or If a hospital shut down, the food warehouses close.. no food... or taxes going up and people losing their homes. Banks repossessing and unable to sell those homes...banks close, grocery stores close, ...I see some of that happening already... police running ragged to answer alarms going off and finally refusing to answer calls of emergency... When any of these chains is broken, problems immediately esculate....no electricity.... cost of trash collection is $10 a barrel... well, you get a piece of the picture... if the city can't pay city workers...who takes care of the trash, the streets, the sewers, etc... Things get jammed up real fast!!

YAS, going back to the topic. It seem that you will be older faster then you will get younger. :) :)

Seriously, I have often thought about this. It is very obvious that change/progress comes faster and is accelerating. One does wonder, when will it slow down? My life goes from no power and to fetch water from the well. Now I can go on vacation to a hotel in orbit if I have the money. Where will the progress take my grandkids? From TV and simple computers to ...............what? Or does it end at 2012? I would be happy about it, but probably not my grandkids. :)

Magnetic pole shift....did some resaerch on this about 3 years ago. Magnetic pole shift is NOT an axis shift of poles. This shift takes place about every 2000 years and is due to earth's molten iron core. If the shift were not to take place the theory is we would lose our atmosphere.

That this was taking place was noticed a few years ago when someone checking the small magnetic particlas in ancient pottery, aligned themselves in a particulair pattern. Comparing newer pottery it was discovered these little boogers were not following the same alignment. Different stratas of volcanic rock also showed the same phenomena doing a change on a regular basis, and indicating the same difference in alignment as modern pottery.

Wanting to pinpoint when this began to take place, british naval records were checked into as they have kept records with precision and these have been archived for generations. Can't recall exactly what the time frame was but there is evidence this shift began some time ago. i want to say a couple hundred years but distrust my memory on this.

Somewhere i saw a map of the scattered readings of magnetic fluctuation, i don't think it's any coincidence that one of the largest was located in the same place as that large ozone 'hole' near Aussie land.

Apologies for not being more precise on places and dates...my memory is not what it used to be. But i aquired the data by googling.

No one knows precisely what affect this magnetic pole shift will have...it does show some signs of affecting atmosphere and hence weather tho it wouldn't be accurate to say the shift alone is responsable for some of the bizzare weather. it will be interesting to see what happens to all the electronic and electrical devices and the power grids we depended upon. Again, this is not an axis shift, if axis is the proper word to use, the planet is not going to flip flop.

Ah, remember the little particals are called magnetites. Thank you memory for not waking me up at 2 in the coming A.M. with this information.

My opinion is that just because the Mayan's ran out of numbers for their calendar does not mean anything earth shaking is going to happen. Remember Halley's comet and some of the other cosmic events which were supposed to herald one thing or other, as far as I can make out all of them non-events. I predict that 2012 will be the same disappointment for many.

At the same time...saying this to us...they also promote prices for alternate fuel vehicles so prohibitive that few could ever afford them.

Years ago Professor Hapgood, from Keene New Hampshire, USA, suggested the pole shift theory. He said that some thousands of years ago, the north and south poles were in a different position explaining why wooley mammoths were found frozen in Siberia with mouthfuls of tropical vegetation. He said it happened all of a sudden. When core samples were taken from the earth in several different locations, it proved different magnetic alignments from the present and from analyzing these samples, they came up with an approximate date for the shift.
Friend of mine says that Alaskan icebergs and glaciers are melting at an alarming rate. Glaciers which last year were blue and brilliant are down to rock and mud, they are dirty and green areas are where ice once was. We know the earth is going through changes; my theory is that these are natural changes, not ones WE caused.

[Another fact, unrelated to the Novelty theory, is that NASA predicts that there will be a major shift of the sun's magnetic poles on or about that date. ]

OK. Prediction is really damn easy !

My prediction is :

Tomorrow
1) Cortex will start speaking in the language of Grim
2) Star will turn into a fairy ( enlightened one, of course)
3) Grim will start talking in simple English
4) SelfSeeker will attain enlightenment
5) Chip & YAS would become younger by at least 40 years
6) Aurora will accept that there is something called Illusion
7) Agyat will break his silence
8) Abs will develop wings like Angels
9) GatesOfGrace will not quote scriptures while posting
10) AsI will be appointed Head Monk in some great Tibetan Monastry ..... etc. etc.

Any one left out there ? Ask for & it will be granted ! Happy Tomorrow !!! :D

This has to do with 12/21/2012.

Population, technology, food and materials production, communications capabilities, miniaturization, speed of travel, and many other things, are all increasing at what is known as an accelerating rate; that is, they are increasing and the rate at which they are increasing is also increasing. A group of mathematicians has plotted graphs of all of humanity's major developments and projected them out to where they all, more or less simultaneously hit infinity. Guess what that date is---12/21/2012!
Now, we need to remember that this is only a mathematical model. I have not seen or made sense of any of the graphs. (Maybe it's because I'm no mathematician!

According to the mathematical model, we should see approximately *61* more of these species-changing developments before 12/21/2012! All of the same magnitude as the three noted above! Again, it's only a model, but they predict 18 of those changes on the last day, and 13 of _those_ to happen in the last FRACTION OF A SECOND, as things accelerate towards that infinity point.

So far, according to the some theorists, we have definitely experienced 3 species changing events: we learned how to farm about 35,000 years ago. About 350 years ago, we learned to mass produce technology. About 35 years ago, we learned to miniaturize electronics, such as computers.
