This is not directed just at you, Nepsfeather, but I see that more than one on here shares the same thought. Why do you stay here if there are no disagreements or anything to debate? Yes, it is a matter of choice of course, but still a fair question.

Well, I have read most of the threads. I guess I would have to agree with you. It was nice visiting. Peace.

    Hello Immortellle,

I would love to see the love and vibrancy that was 'Spiritual Discussion Forum' but things change and we move on.

I am still trying to figure out what has changed. We are still the same people and many of us have a history together.

So, what could have changed the chemistry that was once 'Spiritual Dicussion Forum,' where we all use to speak our minds, sometimes taking it beyond acceptable...[hey thats what family do]...to now be a quiet community who is now 'politically correct' and I do not mean politics.

Please!... I am not good at arguing a point...BUT... I can see and feel the difference between these two or may I say Twin Forums...one is quiet and the other was loud and vibrant.

This new forum is still a lovely place to be and I prefer it to other forums...BUT...I truly miss the 'Energy' that was 'SDF'

    Peace and Love Neptune...

What a loving response from you to your question. I had expected a flash of ego from anyone. My personal response is that one need not care where the clouds drift; yet, why not at the same time. I must imagine that ones that were loud and vibrant have moved on. There does come a point when there is nothing left to debate or argue. Again, perhaps a peaceful forum is a positive statement in itself. All is as it should be. Nevertheless, anything can be stirred up. I would like it if you did this. Of course, who am I but a passing firefly to say so. Or, I could do this myself if requested.

Well, an analysis of this forum. It is no different from most others in that there is a hierarchy in hand with elitism. Generally, there is a king/queen bee that is aggressive and others become subserviant. This one can easily be picked out because it is the one that has so much to say-ego disguised as anything but that.In such forums, outside opinions are treated in a territorial manner. You will have to decide if this is for you. I am only passing through as this is what I do-exposing the falseness of ego-mind saviors.

I hope you have read the posts. Hypocrisy exposed. Unfortunately, it takes being judgemental to do this. Note Jesus defying his own words with the money exchangers. The king/queen did not come out. They are infamous for the last word so he/she will after the fact. This may have a lot to do with people leaving the forum. Most of the forums I have crossed share these same characteristics. I would have liked to see what the previous forum was like. Everything is as it is-that is the bottom line. Peace.

    Hello Nep...

i was the first member to register on this forum from the old SDF.

One of the reasons this forum is so inactive is due to the most contoversial of it's participants were those of us who advocated the emptiness of the phenomenal world found less and less to say about it that hadn't been repeated many times before. And perhaps like myself, percieved by degrees, no real reason for it.

For the language police, should there be any hanging around....i've used conventional language for were there to be used the language of the unformed there would be nothing to say, no one to say it and none to hear it.....come to think of it, that is the major theme/complaint of this thread isn't it? Donchya just love it? LOL, Laughter to all of "US"

Hi, Ekanta here. I dont look here much anymore, much like chip said...
My work is mostly with myself (the man in the mirror like Michael Jackson sang).
I have a work where I work with people's social understanding a lot and think that is enough. The other day I sat talking with a co worker and told her how good she is at her work and that I see and notice it, she fell into tears. That is just a small example of how one can spread understanding and love in real life.
As for spiritual discussions... there has to be a balance between discussion and practice. Even though I discussed a lot in the past my focus should be on practice.
I remember a very good quote by Sai Baba:
"You dont have to tell other whats correct or how to be, its enough if you show by example, then they will understand better".
There are so many different people showing up in these discussions, yet the ways are different, from strict christians, new agers, buddhists, yoga dudes to atheists. If you mix it all where is the progress? And then combine it with the personal understanding (or lack of) it becomes even more a mess.
In short, for me it became a waste of time to hand around here.

And by the way... some cool things coming up...
As said I work in school with behaviour and social understanding. Now we are going to start with mindfulness training too, thats going to be cool, like meditation. Looking forward to that.
My long term plan is to be able to teach more and more in line with the "educare" principles, which focuses on value-based education (universal values brought to life from inside the person).
    Cya dudes, sometime...

I think that a lot of people left because of the software this forum uses, e.g. we never got the quoting facility to work which makes it difficult to have a discussion.
The simplicity and look of this forum is nice but at the same time it imposes restrictions.

    Yes star, less to say.

Still it is lovely to share and lay down offerings of love to the many who helped to open the heart to Heart of hearts...

As we go round and round, life is just a moment in time...

    hey Shin and Abby...

let's try your theory out Shin...

What if I were an athelst...how would you go about convincing me that there is a God?

    Posted 5 months ago #
  21. abstractprophet

Just before I respond to your theory star.

In actually there are no reasons as to why A is here and B,C, D etc are not. Any ideas around this are pure illusion.

Simply put I am here as I am here. And they who are not here as they who are not here. All else is illusion based on assumptions and conclusions convincing mind that it is right.

Although chip seems to have forgotten that herself here, she most beautifully put it, that the reasoning behind anything is,,,,, NEVER BECAUSE....

    Much Love All

In regards to how one would respond to the athiest.

To have any success they would have to be completely absorbed in Joy of Being, Gods Grace (whatever label you like) to be able to see the Truth in what the athiest is saying, so then that the Truth that is offered is turned back to reflect itself.

I believe it to be critical to allow the ocean (others ideas) to wash over the drop (our own ideas) without judgement as the principal starting point for sucess.

In other words you got to get to that base before anything else and then you have to allow yourself to be open to what the other is saying.

    Make sense?

    Anyways, gots to run...

    Have fun all.

    Star,

but there is no God. Non-problem dissolved.
'Sprituality talk' is not 'God talk'.

Your inability to think outside your own belief system is why you appear stuck.

There is no freedom in your attitude and you are so stiff that it is next to impossible to hold a reasonable conversation with you as the very moment someone diverges from "your truth" you avoid responding so as not to have you house of cards come tumbling down.

So to flip stars question to be more suitable to your framework of beliefs. How do you convince someone that does believe in God, that there is no God?

    Much Love Brother

hmmm...spirituality talk...ok, Shin, let's say that you have chosen to believe in Consciousness as your higher power or your God...

How would you go about convincing me that all is Consciousness? And can you define this Consciousness? Do you have any new ideas pertaining to this idea of Consciousness beyond the ones that we all have already explored through Buddhism?

And Abby, how is it that you are defining this God of your belief system? Is it the same God of all the religions that adhere to a one God concept? Was it birthed from the gods of Hinduism? Does it have any roots in the ancient Egyptian beliefs? What about the even older beliefs of the religious beliefs attached to animals that has carried over into all the modern religious concepts?

    Posted 5 months ago #
  26. abstractprophet

    star,

Good questions. I like the line that you drew, although it does not include other ancient more tribal beliefs. And as a straight line it can be seen as lacking flexibility, and is far from whole.

The God that I adhere to is beyond all words and comprehension, yet as life I equate it As Life, the source of which is,,,, one and the same.....

I am defining "this God of my belief system" within as I am within reflecting within.

What are your beliefs around God Star and what do you base them on?

Star, right now I don't feel like I have to convince anyone of anything, be that in play or real. This talk about god and consciousness is not only tiring but does nothing in terms of transformation.

Hey Abby, I cannot define what I believe...I am still a student of Time, Space, and Knowledge; working with the TSK vision, where inquiry continues at deeper levels...there is a Magic of the Real that I cannot explain...this Universe seems to dance in sync with Timeless Being and opens me up to Joy when I stay out of me...but that is just another interpretation of what I experience...lol...

Hey Shin...I understand completely...I am transformed in each moment when I tap into whatever it is that sets me free of me...

    much love, always, Star...

when i first joined this forum, there was a lot of ado about 'nothing'

eventually a conversation would go straight to the point.....

    'there is nothing'

no more conversations, no ego no mind no planet.....

not much to talk about after that...

this forum litteraly talked itself to nothing

i regret to say.. this is the first time in many months i have posted on this forum and will probably get the nothing response to this

    but hey.... 'never' mind

see you in about another say 6 months time

    God bless

Nothing exists. Nothing matters. True. What we fail to discuss is how one can get to this nothing. We talk about it, quote people who supposedly know about it, but nothing happens.
Maybe we are afraid, or just ignorant. We don't see that this nothing is the prerequisite for more effective action!
