I found this rather amusing recently and thought to share it. I had never heard of the Higgs boson until I read it. lol

If you want to get some input from a horses mouth (although she looks anything but like a horse) get it from here

Have gone partially through this and do find it rather amusing.

    Correlation vs Causality. Hmmm

Would you like to share some thoughts on this?

That things seem to happen more or less at the same time, maybe even in teh same place, does not mean that one caused the other.
Even if one thing depends on the other it does not imply a causal connection.

    Ok cool.

So do you think we live in a state of causal effect or correlative being?

Or do you see that there is a relationship between the 2? If you see a relationship can you help me to understand as to what that is?

I think we live in a state of confusion.

Following the Buddha's ideas I would say there are no causes whatsoever to be found. It is all about dependecies and the natural arising of phenomena depending on conditions.

Causes, correlations, coincidences, synchronicities only exist in our mind. If you belief in them the conditions wherefrom confusion may arise are present.

We get hooked up on the ostenible cause of an event, and that may be useful for everyday living, but if we would look for the real cause things might be much clearer.

    Hi guys,

Thought you may find this interesting. Recorded back in Mar08 when LHC construction was just finished, and not yet tried out. ( 20 min. video)

    Also,
A talk explaining string theory and how the LHC will test for the existence of additional dimensions.(20 min)

    Take care! :D

    Great response shin

Are you suggesting that there is no correlation or cause? Except what you described as the 'real cause'?

Can you explain this 'real cause' and how it is free from causality?

The real cause is just an ostensible cause on a broader or deeper level.
A 'real cause' really cannot be found.
Things are happening, there are no causes for this phenomena.

When one sees that things become clear.
